Installation of Evolis Pebble 3 Printer

Driver

• Drivers located at http://www.evolis.com/eng/Drivers-Support/Product-support/Pebble-3/Drivers-and-firmware

Linux

• For RPM based installs, use this process:
  • Download the Evolis src RPM from Evolis
  • Unpack it into some working directory
  • copy rastertoevolis to /usr/lib/cups/filter/
  • mkdir /usr/share/ppd/custom/Evolis
  • un-gzip the ppd/* files and copy them to /usr/share/ppd/custom/Evolis
  • copy everything in the ppd file to /usr/share/cups/model/Evolis/. and unzip them
  • restart cups
  • Look for a new printer under the admin interface?
• For Debian, Ubuntu, or other source-based isntalls (and apparently for the new 3.0 driver)
  • Download the 3.0 src .tgz from the above URL
  • Unpack it into a directory
  • Make sure you have the cups development packages installed:
    • sudo aptitude install libcups2-dev
    • sudo aptitude install libcupsimage2-dev
  • ./configure
  • make
  • From here, follow the steps above.

Windows

• Download and run the driver
• Attach the USB cable from printer to computer
• Software should auto-install
• Set as Default Printer
• Go to Printer Properties
  • Under tab Graphic, set Ribbon to R2011 - Black ribboon - K - 1000 cards
  • Under tab Graphic->Document Options->Advanced Settings, set Black panel adjustment to Black and White
